Amtel Communications Ltd and Open Text Deliver Complete FoIP Solution with the Addition of Fax Gateway

March 3, 2010 -- Amtel Communications Ltd and Open Text™ Corporation (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), a global leader in enterprise content management (ECM), today announced a complete range of fax gateways that give organizations of all sizes a single source for all their fax over IP (FoIP) needs.

The Open Text Fax Gateway is designed to simplify Fax over IP (FoIP) implementations by providing fax-specific interoperability and support for a wide range of network environments. The Fax Gateway serves as a cost-effective alternative to traditional fax boards and remote fax board servers, and is optimized to work with T.38 and the Open Text Fax Server, RightFax Edition. By coupling Fax Gateway with the Fax Server, Open Text offers a complete FoIP solution designed to reduce costs, maintain flexibility and interoperability

“We’re seeing more and more interest in fax over IP in organizations of all sizes because it gives them a promising way to lower costs and consolidate resources,” said Matthew Brine, Vice President, Fax and Document Distribution, Open Text. “The combination of our Fax Gateways and market-leading Fax Server software makes it easier than ever to deploy a highly sophisticated FoIP solution that delivers considerable TCO savings and improves business processes.”

Open Text will sell and support the Fax Gateway in New Zealand through Amtel Communications Ltd.

Amtel now offers a complete FOIP solution that can eliminate the fax board factor from the Fax Server hardware selection.    Virtualization of the Fax Server is a compelling reason for the use of Fax Gateways and makes the Open Text FOIP solution easy to install, manage and use.

Customers can use Open Text solutions, for example, to automate the process of inputting information from thousands of paper invoices, and eliminate the inevitable errors involved when paper-based data has to be entered by hand.
